Andre Drummond had 30 points and 25 rebounds to lead Team Hill over Team Webber last night, 142-136. His 25 rebounds set a record for most in a Rising Stars Challenge.
In a losing effort for Team Webber, Michael Carter-Williams showed why he is the consensus favorite to win Rookie of the Year. The rookie out of Syracuse played a complete floor game, or at least as much as you can in a game like this. As the 278 points scored indicate, there was no defense attempted to be played in this game.
His final stat line was 17 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Playing in front of many of the league’s stars who were sitting court side, the budding star said though he is still adjusting to new life in the NBA, he is living the dream.
"It's definitely been a long transition. I just try to go out there and play hard each and every game and hope for the best," Carter-Williams said prior to tipoff. "Things have gone my way a lot. I'm just having fun and living the dream.”
“MCW” will now get a chance to show his ball skills and athleticism off in Saturday night’s Skills Challenge. That event consists of NBA veterans as well, not just rookies.
