While much ado was made from panicking bloggers/tweeters about Domonic Brown's slow start in Philadelphia, one former Phillie has had a similiar start.
Through the first five Grapefruit League games, Washington Nationals' right fielder Jayson Werth is just 1 for his first 13, which translates to to a .077 batting average in early action.
The two primary candidates to replace Werth included Domonic Brown, 1 for 16 prior to a broken bone in his hand, and Ben Francisco, hitting .320 in 25 at bats, with two home runs, two doubles, and two triples.
Thanks to @Mike_Stover for the heads up. I guess it is a good thing that so few of us have been paying attention to Jayson Werth. As of right now, there is no real issue from what I can tell on Nationals blogs.
