By Tim Kelly, Sports Talk Philly editor Mickey Moniak's friend did indeed get that tattoo on his, well...

When the Philadelphia Phillies drafted Mickey Moniak with the No. 1 overall pick in the June 2016 MLB Draft, the pick not only helped Moniak to achieve his dream of becoming a professional baseball player – and a rich one, at that — but it also helped Moniak to win a bet that he forgot had existed.

Moniak, when reminded in an MLB Network interview shortly after the draft, confirmed that his friend Ethan Abrams had previously agreed to a bet that if Moniak was a top 10 draft pick, he would have his signature tattooed on his rear end:

In most friendships, one of two scenarios would have unfolded after the draft. Either Abrams would have avoided Moniak, hoping that he would eventually forget about the bet, or Moniak would have privately excused Abrams from having to follow through on a bet with such permanent ramifications.

Instead, Abrams followed through on the bet, with Moniak in attendance, more than half a year after Moniak was drafted No. 1 overall:

If Moniak fulfills the potential that made him the No. 1 pick, then this will actually turn out to be quite the story for Abrams to tell. Not that there's any indication that Moniak plans to stop being friends with Abrams any time soon, but not matter how successful he ends up being as a major leaguer, it will be hard to ever lose touch with the friend who has his name tattooed on one of the most personal places one could get a tattoo.

As Moniak alluded to in his second tweet, if Abrams, who was third-team all-state in high school as a starting pitcher, ever is drafted in the top 10, Moniak will have to return the favor.
