Remember that huge news about the Phillies signing Cuban pitcher Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez after another demoralizing loss a few weeks ago? If not, then that may be a good thing.
Per Todd Zolecki the deal is in limbo and might not happen at all. A few days ago I had heard that Gonzalez was waiting on his visa which was holding things up. Then there's talk of elbow issues. Ruben Amaro Jr. yesterday declined comment which was unusual for he's usually the type who would just flat out deny anything was up. Whatever it is, something is holding this up.
Just another occurence on the long strange trip the 2013 Phillies season is. Injuries, suspensions, decline and now the failure to even get it right on the international market (or maybe they have got it right). Very very strange.
