Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez Promoted to Triple-A

With Cliff Lee going on the disabled list, the Phillies recalled Cesar Jimenez from Triple-A. To fill Jimenez's spot on the IronPigs roster, the Phils promoted Cuban pitcher, Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez, to Triple-A.

After having early season injury problems, Gonzalez has come back and impressed in the Phillies organization. His fastball has reached 95mph and he posted a 3.14 ERA in 11 games for the Reading Fightin' Phils. His control has also showed improvement, striking out 24 and walking seven in his time in Double-A while holding opponents to a .192 average against.

The promotion of Gonzalez could mean that we may see him come September, when rosters are expanded. Overall this season between Clearwater and Reading, MAG is 0-4 with a 3.94 ERA.
