StutesDebut

The Phillies officially added right-handed reliever Mike Stutes to the Phillies active roster.  The move comes one day after the team sent reliever Phillippe Aumont to AAA Lehigh Valley.  Many speculated that it would be Stutes, coming off a hot streat at Lehigh Valley.  Stutes had given up just one run in his last 10 appearances.

Stutes thanked those who reached out to him on Twitter:

He will be with the team tomorrow when they begin a three-game series in Washington, D.C. to face the Nationals.

The Phillies' bullpen was expected to be a strength this season, but thanks to poor play from relievers Raul Valdes, Chad Durbin, Phillippe Aumont, and an injury to Mike Adams, the bullpen has been rough.  Closer Jonathan Papelbon continues to be dominant, while relievers Antonio Bastardo and Jeremy Horst have been up and down.
