Two-time American League MVP Mike Trout is under contract with the Los Angeles Angels through the 2020 season, but his constant presence at Philadelphia Eagles home games has led Philadelphia Phillies fans to wonder whether Trout will eventually become a Phillie. I've outlined why that seems unlikely, but Trout's budding romance with Carson Wentz has made it hard for Philadelphia sports to not catch feelings for the generational talent.
After the Green Bay Packers upset of the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday's divisional round playoff game, Trout, much like many other Eagles fans, took to Twitter to celebrate the Cowboys early playoff exit:
HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
— Mike Trout (@MikeTrout) January 16, 2017
Of course, Trout got some salty responses from non-Eagles fans:
@MikeTrout remind Mike about his Eagles… @GRICHARDS26

@MikeTrout you're on the worst team in baseball and the eagles finished last in their division so I don't know what you're happy about

@MikeTrout How about your shit Eagles?

One fan did give a fairly credible response, that could work in the favor of Phillies fans but may sadly be true in the case of the Eagles:
@MikeTrout Eagles are like Angels = ain't seen the playoffs anytime recently and won't anytime soon
— Dupont Circle (@DupontCircleDC) January 16, 2017
While that may be true, a New York fan strangely enough came to the rescue of the Eagles and the Angels:
@DupontCircleDC @MikeTrout and the Nationals are like the Cowboys. Can't move on in the playoffs

It's also worth noting that within the last 10 days, Trout has both retweeted a tweet from Wentz, retweeted a tweet from Joel Embiid after the Sixers buzzer-beating win over the New York Knicks and voted for Embiid for the NBA All-Star Game. You do the math.
