During the third inning of Thursday's victory in Minnesota, Jim Thome launched career home run 607 into the flower bed in right-center field at Target Field. Throughout the the course of the game, the missing ball was a point on the broadcast.
Fox Sports North reports the ball has been recovered by Senior Director of Ballpark Systems Gary Glawe.
"The situation obviously got a lot of attention. We didn't want anybody leaning over the rail anymore, so we just kind of stopped it, got up there with the proper equipment on. … We wanted to put safety equipment on, get out there and try to put some closure to the situation."
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire has the ball in his possession right now, and the team says they are waiting to hear back from Thome to give the ball back.
Thome hit his 600th home run for the Twins last year.
