Final: Phillies 3, Yankees 0  ❖  Attendance: 11,028

TAMPA, Fla. — Thanks to shutout performances from starter Adam Morgan and the three relievers that followed—Brett Oberholtzer, Luis Garcia and Reinier Roibal—the Philadelphia Phillies (10-3-2) captured a 3-0 victory over left-hander C.C. Sabathia and the New York Yankees (3-8-2) Sunday afternoon in Tampa.

Morgan, 26, threw just 39 pitches over four innings of work in opposition of most of the Yankees' expected Opening Day starters. In three starts this spring, as he makes his case to earn a spot in the starting rotation, Morgan has allowed just two runs on four hits and two walks spanning nine innings.

The Phillies are now undefeated over their last nine spring training games. They currently trail the Toronto Blue Jays (10-2-1) by a half game for first place in the Grapefruit League standings.

WP: Adam Morgan (2-0, 2.00 ERA)  ❖  LP: C.C. Sabathia (0-1, 4.91 ERA)  ❖  SV: Reinier Roibal (2)

The only runs produced Sunday afternoon came off the bat of Phillies' hitters in the top of the first and second innings.

With two outs recorded, 2007 American League Cy Young Award winner C.C. Sabathia committed a costly fielding error that allowed Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco to reach first base. Advancing to second on a wild pitch by the southpaw, Franco came around to score during the next at-bat as designated hitter Ryan Howard hit a RBI-doublehis second hit of the spring.

In the top of the second, shortstop Freddy Galvis singled with one out and then advanced to second on a groundout by left fielder Emmanuel Burriss. The next batter, right fielder Nick Williams, hit his third double of spring training to increase the Phillies' lead to 2-0.

Two batters later, second baseman Cesar Hernandez picked up his fifth run-batted-in with a RBI-single to center field, giving the Phillies their third and final run of the afternoon.
