Morgan, Straily square off in series finale as Phillies eye sweep against Reds

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Phillies (22-15) will look for their third series sweep of the season and their fourth consecutive victory, as they oppose right-hander Dan Straily and the Cincinnati Reds (14-22) Sunday afternoon in the series finale at Citizens Bank Park.

Opposite Straily will be Phillies left-hander Adam Morgan, who will make his fourth start of the season since replacing right-hander Charlie Morton (left hamstring) in the rotation on April 29.

While the Phillies have won five of their last six games, the Reds have lost five of their last six. Nine of the Phillies' last 10 victories have come by a margin of one run, which dates back to Morgan's season debut. They have won a MLB-best 14 of 17 (.824) one-run games this season.

The Phillies enter Sunday's contest trailing the division-leading Washington Nationals by just one game. Washington will oppose Marlins ace Jose Fernandez, who is 4-0 with a 1.05 ERA in seven career starts against them.

The right-hander has thrown three consecutive quality starts. He entered spring training as a member of the Houston Astros, however he was traded on March 28 to the San Diego Padres in exchange for former Phillies catcher Erik Kratz. Straily was selected off waivers by the Reds four days later.
