The last two weeks have been pretty interesting in terms of figuring out where Sixers center Jahlil Okafor will land before tomorrow's trade deadline.
For all intents and purposes, seven teams have been involved in trade talks with the Sixers in the last couple weeks, with no trade going through. The Celtics came up as a possible suitor on Monday, the Pacers emerged yesterday, and now the Kings have entered the mix following the trade of DeMarcus Cousins to the Pelicans and their lack of big-man presence.
David Aldridge of NBA.com reported on Tuesday that Jahlil Okafor "will get moved by Thursday."
Aldridge mentioned that the Pacers and Kings are potential landing spots for Okafor, and that the Sixers "have a lot of offers to sift through."
Okafor is averaging 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23 minutes per game this season. His defense is an obvious question mark, but his offense alone makes him a value to certain teams who lack it.
The Kings are left with centers Kosta Koufos and Willie Cauley-Stein, who are both considered to be role players for Sacramento, so the Kings could use a starting center. They also were in talks to move Darren Collison, Ben McLemore, and Arron Afflalo after the Cousins trade.
If Aldridge is correct in guaranteeing Okafor's move, this may in fact actually happen before tomorrow.
The trade deadline is at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
