Jon Heyman of CBS is now saying that the Giants are indeed talking to the Phillies about outfielder Hunter Pence.
However, Heyman backs off of assertion that a deal was in place pending ownership approval.
While Giants people have denied the report that there is a deal "in place'' for Pence, and that appears to be the case, but the Giants are talking to the Phillies about Pence.
The Giants weren't believed to have much money to spend. But it appears they are considering spending some here.
Remember – the same source- Dennis O'Donnell of KPIX-TV in San Francisco who so many people have been critical of for the report of a trade agreement, was the first to report on the Friday the 27th that the two teams were in serious discussions.
So, this could happen.
