After selecting North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz with the No. 2 overall pick, the Philadelphia Eagles didn't get a chance to make another selection until the 79th overall pick in the third-round.
With that pick, the Eagles continued building offensive line depth, something they've slowly done this off-season, by selecting center Isaac Seumalo from Oregon State.
Seumalo, though technically a center, also can play guard, which makes him an interesting pick, as he could serve a Todd Herremans-type role of being an offensive-line swingman, something the Eagles have traditionally valued.
Seumalo is the first offensive-lineman that the Eagles have selected in the NFL Draft since they took Lane Johnson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2013 draft. To put in perspective how long it has been since their last selection of an offensive-lineman, Johnson signed his second contract with the Eagles this off-season.
The Eagles, barring a trade, won't make another selection in the NFL Draft until the fifth round. They will have their own selection in the fifth-round at the 153rd overall pick and the 164th overall pick, a pick that they acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers in last August's trade of Brandon Boykin. The Eagles also own the 188th pick (sixth round) along with the 233rd and 251st overall picks in the seventh round.
