It’s obvious at this point that the Flyers chances of making the playoffs are slim to none. So as Wednesday’s trade deadline hits, the Flyers may be trying to get whatever they can get for their pending free agents.

The Flyers have several players who are pending free agents at the end of the season and all of them are viable trade candidates.

Here is a look at the five most likely Flyers to be moved on Wednesday.

Mark Streit – The 39-year-old defenseman could certainly provide a veteran presence to a contending team and would net the Flyers the best return among the three unrestricted free agents on the blue line. If the Flyers can get for Streit what they got for Kimmo Timonen a couple years ago, or anything close, it’s a no-brainer to make that deal.

Nick Schultz – Schultz hasn’t played much, but with the veteran likely in his final NHL season, perhaps a team would be willing to add him to give him one last shot at a Stanley Cup run.

Steve Mason – It’s tough to say which of the Flyers goalies has the better chance to be moved based on performance. Mason got one last audition on Tuesday night and made the most of it. But with two pending free agents in goal, this is a coin flip for the Flyers.

Michal Neuvirth – The Flyers certainly showcased him enough with six straight starts. If a team is interested at all, Neuvirth seems to be the easier of the two goalies to move. Take the return, bring up Anthony Stolarz for the remainder of the season and go from there.

Michael Del Zotto – As it was when the Flyers signed Del Zotto, a team could take a chance to see if, once again, a change of scenery helps the defenseman, now in his ninth NHL season at age 26. Much like Schultz or a goalie deal, if anyone is willing to be a trade partner here, do the deal and take the return.

Bonus Entry: Nobody – It’s not out of the question that the Flyers don’t make any trades on deadline day. Their goalie situation is rather confusing at this point, with no one goalie really making noise to generate trade talk. Two of their three pending free agents on defense are regularly out of the lineup. There is no forward that is really generating any buzz either. If there is one likely player to be moved, it’s Streit, and there’s no guarantees of that happening either. So yes, once again, the Flyers could just stand pat at the deadline.
