Nick Foles Practices With Eagles First Team Offense Tuesday

QB practiceNick Foles took first-team reps at Philadelphia Eagles practice Tuesday with Matt Barkley working with the second-team and Michael Vick handling third-team duties.

For the second week in a row Michael Vick began the week on the practice field for the Philadelphia Eagles in a limited fashion while battling through a pulled hamstring suffered against the New York Giants.

Similarly to last Tuesday Vick appeared limited in his mobility to start the week and during the first portion of practice that the media are allowed to watch, was taking reps with the third-team offense.

Meanwhile, Nick Foles who finished 16-25 for 197 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants and lit up the Buccaneers to the tune of a 133.3 quarterback rating while completing 22 of 31 passing for 296 yards, three passing touchdowns and one rushing score, took snaps with the first team.

That appears to be the plan for the week according to Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur

"We're going to practice the guys that are out there," offensive coordinator Shurmur said Tuesday. "We'll just see [about first-team snaps]. At this point, Nick. Coach Kelly will address those questions about who the quarterback is when both of them are healthy. At this point, we'll go with Nick. When Mike's healthy, we'll have that discussion. "

It remains to be seen just how much work Vick will be able to get in during practice this week and we will not know for sure about his routine today until the official injury report is released after practice.

Shurmur lauded the efforts of both quarterbacks during his weekly media availability.

"I think we're in a great situation to have two guys who can start in this league," Shurmur said. "I look at Nick and I think he's more mobile than people give him credit for and Mike is better in the pocket than some people give him credit for, too."

Elsewhere on the injury front left tackle Jason Peters appeared limited in practice Tuesday. The Eagles left tackle missed a total of nine plays Sunday with a shoulder injury and on Tuesday was at practice but did not have his helmet and appeared to be doing mostly side work.
