Odubel Herrera is the best Phillies offensive performer, but does not appear in the top 15 outfielders after the first vote totals were released (Frank Klose/Philliedelphia)
The Phillies offense in 2016 has not been very good as a whole. The Phillies have seen stellar offensive production from outfielder Odubel Herrera in the early going, but the lineup as a whole has struggled immensely. As the first round of voting for the 2016 MLB All-Star Game was released, no Phillies appear among the top five at any position.
Major League Baseball released the top vote-getters this afternoon:

The release is the first report of vote totals.
With All-Star Game voting now 100% electronic, a slowed attendance at Citizens Bank Park should not have the effect of previous seasons where home attendance greatly contributed to the leaders in All-Star Game votes. 2015 was the first year without paper voting in ballparks. Fans can vote for 2016 All Stars here.
Herrera currently leads Phillies hitters with a .319 batting average and a .425 on base percentage. Herrera is fifth in the league in on base percentage. Phillies closer Jeanmar Gomez is tied for the Major League lead in saves with 17, alongside Jeurys Famiglia of the New York Mets. Gomez likely will get some All Star consideration when pitching staffs are assembled. However, pitchers are not chosen by fan vote.
The 2016 All-Star game is scheduled to take placeTuesday, July 12 at Petco Park in San Diego, California.
