The Philadelphia Eagles came through their three-games in 11 days pressure cooker to start the season about as healthy as can be expected.
Chip Kelly's squad returned to the practice fields of the Novacare Complex on Tuesday for the first time following Thursday's 26-16 loss to Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs with only safety Patrick Chung sitting out due to injury.
Chung was scene exiting the locker room after the game Thursday night with a sling and ice pack around his shoulder. Kelly insisted that he does not have a timetable for Chung's return.
“I’m a day-to-day guy,” Kelly said, “so I know he’s not practicing [Tuesday]. If he practices [Wednesday], I’ll make sure I tell you before we start.”
LeSean McCoy was sent to the locker room for X-Rays on his leg late in the second quarter after what appeared to be a gruesome injury, but the league's leading rusher returned in the third quarter and does not appear to be suffering any ill effects.
“Michael Vick and McCoy are fine,” Kelly said. “They’re 100 percent.”
Vick has taken a beating in recent weeks and was knocked out of the game for one play against the San Diego Chargers in the waning moments of week two.
If Chung, a five-year veteran signed by the Eagles this offseason, is unable to play it would mean rookie Earl Wolff gets his first NFL start against Peyton Manning, arguably the best quarterback of this generation.
