Todd Zolecki reports that Phillies interim manager, Pete Mackanin will remain at the position for the remainder of the season. It's a good opportunity for Mackanin who gets a shot at proving his worth as a big league manager, having interviewed for the position with other clubs over the years.
Zolecki also reported that the Phillies announced announced is that former shortstop Jorge Velandia will be added to the coaching staff. Velandia played in the Phillies organization in 2009 and since his playing days, he has served as the Assistant Minor League Field Coordinator.
