Philadelphia Eagles kicker Alex Henery has been fined $15,750 by the NFL for his horse collar tackle of Kansas City Chiefs kick returner and former Eagles defensive back Quintin Demps during last Thursday's game at Lincoln Financial Field.
It's rare to see a kicker or punter fined for an illegal tackle because they generally are a last line of defense when it comes to actual physical contact
Henery, 26, made a tackle on Demps in the third quarter in the open field following a kickoff where the University of Nebraska product grabbed Demps' facemask and eventually his hand slid down to his collar which drew a 15-yard penalty.
This season, Henery's third handling field goal as well as kickoff duties for the Birds, he is five of seven on field goals and has launched 7 of his 17 kickoffs for touchbacks.
