It's not often that a Philadelphia athlete can tweet support for a Boston sports team and still manage to get retweets from Philadelphia fans, but new Eagles running-back LeGarrette Blount found a way Sunday evening.
The former New England Patriots running-back, who signed a one-year deal with the Eagles last Wednesday, sent this tweet out after the Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals last night:
Great game fellas @celtics ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ keep fighting!!!

A Twitter user, whose bio says he is a Patriots fan, responded with this (warning: explicit language):
They still suck nigga just like ya trash ass https://t.co/izBJUAABcd

The Twitter user's bio says he is a Patriots fan, but also roots for the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Yankees. You can draw your own conclusions from that.
Rather than just let it go, Blount clapped back at the fan with quite the response:
โ๐ฟyou're in a public bathroom takin pics in a dirty ass mirror with a trac phone ๐ฎ you can't even take a selfie ๐ญwith that big ass suit on ๐ https://t.co/TXRVQOosO7

As far as athletes owning fans on social media, this response was pretty funny because while it put the person in their place and got some laughs, it didn't involve any shots about the man specifically.
Thus far, Blount has done quite well in endearing himself to his new fans. Last week, he said in an interview that he believes that Carson Wentz was the best quarterback taken in his draft class, one that also included Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
