Chicago is the site of the 2016 NFL Draft starting on Thursday night, a change from the usual venue. For the first time since 1964, the NFL Draft is being held in a city other than New York.
The NFL appears to be looking to continue that trend. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Philadelphia "has emerged as a leading candidate" to host the 2017 NFL Draft. Los Angeles is also in the running.
Philadelphia has emerged as leading candidate to host 2017 NFL Draft, per sources. NFL considering Philly, LA – neither has a 1 next year.

Schefter noted that both the Eagles and Rams do not have a first-round pick in next year's Draft.
Philadelphia has been a gathering spot for many major events. Wells Fargo Center hosted the NHL Draft in 2014, the Papal visit of 2015 was a success and Philadelphia is preparing to host the Democratic National Convention in July. The NFL Draft would be another addition to the growing resume.
The announcement is not likely to be made for another few months. Chicago was announced as the host for the 2016 NFL Draft last August.
