Flyers Fall to Devils for 4th Straight Loss

In the first two games of the homestand, going into the trade deadline, the Flyers lost both games convincingly. That continued on Saturday in their first game after of the deadline.

On Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t a lopsided game on the scoreboard, but it was another game that showed the difference in talent level between the two teams. The Flyers dropped their fourth straight game, falling to the New Jersey Devils, 3-1, at Wells Fargo Center.

The Devils opened the scoring at 11:10. Cody Glass, in his debut with the Devils, took control of a bounce and fired a shot over Ivan Fedotov to make it 1-0.

Through 20 minutes, shots were 8-5 Flyers.

The Devils added to the lead at 5:39 of the second. Another bounce went the Devils way, sitting for Erik Haula to finish off his sixth goal of the season.

Through two periods, shots were 16-13 New Jersey.

With 4:47 remaining, the Flyers got on the board. Jamie Drysdale, playing in his 200th NHL game, got ahead of the field and scored, making it a 2-1 game.

Jake Allen made 23 saves on 24 shots in the win. Fedotov made 20 saves on 22 shots in the loss.

Haula had two points for the Devils.

The Flyers are back in action on Tuesday night as they take on the Ottawa Senators at 7 p.m.
