While the Philadelphia Eagles rest this weekend ahead of their crucial final stretch of the season, Philadelphia's other professional football team — the Philadelphia Soul — will be far from inactive.

This morning, the team will hold a player open tryout at Total Turf Experience (614 Lambs Road, Pitman, NJ). Majority Owner Ron Jaworski, Head Coach Clint Dolezel, newly named General Manager/Assistant Head Coach Beau Bell, and starting quarterback Dan Raudabaugh will all attend, among other staff, to hopefully catch a glimpse at the next-best Philadelphia football athlete.

The Soul are coming off a disappointing finish to their 13th season in franchise history, falling in both semifinal playoff games in mid-July to the Baltimore Brigade, 45-57 at the Wells Fargo Center, and 41-53 at Royal Farms Arena. In the regular season, the Soul finished tied with the Brigade for the second-best record among the league's four teams, 7-5.

The Soul hope talent discovered on Saturday will help them win their fourth ArenaBowl championship in 2019. They won the ArenaBowl in back-to-back seasons in 2016 and 2017, as well as in 2008. Doors are open to the public from 9-11 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis.
