Phillies starter Cole Hamels is missing his regularly-scheduled start tonight at Citizens Bank Park thanks to a sore hamstring. The Phillies got some good news today on Hamels: Hamels could be ready to take his spot in the rotation on Wednesday.
Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports:
Hamels is feeling better. He'll throw his normal pen session Sunday. Tentatively on tap to return to rotation Wednesday at Yankee Stadium.

Hamels also pretty much rolled his eyes at thought of going on the DL. Very adamant that's not happening. It's not that bad/severe.

The news is particularly good for the Phillies' prospects of trading Hamels prior to the July 31 deadline.
Hamels remains the top pitching trade piece on the market and the Phillies need a strong return in order to rebuild their franchise.
