This offseason has been filled with trade chatter about Phillies ace pitcher Cole Hamels. Hamels has been linked at one point or another to the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, and the Houston Astros. Hamels himself has really said nothing. That is, until now.
Hamels joined Jim Memolo and Brad Lidge on "Hot Stove" on MLB Network Radio.
"My family is from the West Coast and my wife's family is from the Midwest. So, I think that's kind of what – if anything does happen- you do have to kind of look at that different perspective, because as the kids get older you want them to see their family. You tend to gravitate toward what you are used to and what you grew up with. The West Coast, or even the Midwest…I'm very used to being out there now more often."
Geography aside: Hamels is interested in a team that is looking to win:
"For whatever city is going after winning – that could defnitely hcange every sort of persepctive and every desire, because that trumps almost everything."
Still, Hamels praised living in Philly and all that the area has to offer.
