PHILADELPHIA – In the latest move of shaking up their outfield depth chart, the Philadelphia Phillies acquired 27-year-old outfielder Alfredo Marte from the Baltimore Orioles on Monday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

The Dominican Republic native signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Orioles on Dec. 14. Despite batting .280/.308/.440 with 11 total bases and two extra-base hits in 15 games this spring, he was assigned to Triple-A Norfolk. Now with the Phillies, he has been assigned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Marte is a career .181/.249/.284 hitter with two home runs and 13 runs-batted-in over 71 games and 170 plate appearances.
