According to CSN's Jim Salisbury, Phillies OF/IF Laynce Nix has been activated from the disabled list. To make room, Jason Pridie has been designated for assignment.
The move makes me wonder where Jim Thome would have fit in the original plans; no one on the roster can be optioned. If Michael Martinez was on the roster he could have been sent out, but the Phillies would be without a backup infielder.
It will be nice to have a capable bat to pinch hit in the late innings as the Phillies go for a win. Nix combined average and power in his short time with the Phillies.
