The status of four Philadelphia Phillies pitchers were affected Sunday morning, ahead of the club's series finale against the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park.
Highlighting such moves is the activation of RHP Pat Neshek (lat strain) from the 10-day disabled list, and the placement of RHP Vince Velasquez on the 10-day disabled list with a right arm contusion.
In corresponding moves, the Phillies respectively optioned and recalled southpaw Zac Curtis and right-hander Jake Thompson, to and from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Velasquez's placement on the DL comes less than 24 hours after sustaining a line drive off the bat of Adam Eaton in the top of the second inning of Saturday's 3-2 victory. The ambidextrous Velasquez used his left hand to pick up the ball and fire across the diamond for the final out. X-rays were negative after the game.

Neshek made three rehab appearances between High-A Clearwater and Double-A Reading from June 23-29. In three innings, the right-hander allowed a pair of runs while striking out six of his 13 batters faced.
Thompson and Curtis have shuffled between Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia throughout most of the season. In two relief appearances with the IronPigs on June 25 and June 29, Thompson combined to toss 4 1/3 shutout frames with five strikeouts and just three walks allowed. Curtis likewise threw 4 1/3 shutout frames with five strikeouts and three walks in three games with the Phillies from June 22-29.
