The Phillies agreed to terms with their first round draft pick, Aaron Nola today, according to many published reports, including this one from the Philadelphia Inquirer's Matt Gelb.  The Phillies drafted Nola on Friday with their first round pick, the seventh overall in the draft.

MLB's Draft account on Twitter announced that the Phillies will introduce Nola at 4:45 p.m., and will stream the announcement on MLB.com:

As Matt Gelb noted in his tweet, Nola could report right to low Class A affiliate Williamsport, whose season begins on Friday.

Nola is widely seen as a "safe" pick for the Phillies.  With a college resume and being 21 years of age, Nola's upside may be more predictable and he might make the major leagues fasters than a pitcher drafted out of high school.   At LSU, Nola was 30-6 with a 2.09 ERA in three seasons.
