One week after they were selected in the MLB Draft, high school shortstop Cole Stobbe and UCLA RHP Grant Dyer have agreed to contracts with the Philadelphia Phillies, according to Jim Callis of MLB.com.

MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reported Thursday that the Phillies were close to signing their top three picks, making the signing of Stobbe less than surprising. Though the team has yet to officially agree to terms with outfielder Mickey Moniak, who they took with the No. 1 overall pick, the plan in taking Moniak seemed to be that he would sign for less than the No. 1 pick was slotted for, leaving the Phillies more money to sign other picks. As Callis noted, Stobbe signed for $1.1 million, which is well over the $813,500 that pick No. 78 was slotted at.
Given that Dyer pitched three seasons at the college level, he's likely to start at a higher level in the Phillies' system than Stobbe, who like Moniak, just graduated High School. Zolecki says that Stobbe, along with Moniak and second round pick Kevin Gowdy, is likely to start his minor league career with the GCL Phillies.
