The Phillies released their Minor League coaching staffs on Tuesday. The moves involve a few promotions, and a former Phillies Major League coach sticks around in the organization. The Phillies also created a new position: pitching rehab coach.
Here are some of the highlights of the staff:
- David Lundquist moves from AA Reading pitching coach to AAA Lehigh Valley, likely following many Phillies top pitching prospects as the move up the organization.
- Aaron Fultz, the former Phillies pitcher, gets a promotion from pitching coach of the Lakewood Blue Claws to high Class A Clearwater Threshers.
- Steve Schrenk climbs up the ladder from Class A Clearwater to AA Reading.
- Ray Burris moves from AAA Lehigh Valley to a newly-created position: pitching rehab coach. Presumably he will work with pitchers rehabbing from injury. Just my guess: he will work out of the Carpenter Complex in Clearwater.
- Formerly Phillies third base coach, John Mizerock remains in the Phillies organization and will serve as a coach for short season Williamsport.
