The Phillies seem to be loading up everywhere except in the outfield. According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Phillies are interested in infielder Ryan Theriot.

Signing Theriot probably would mean that Freddy Galvis will either head to AAA Lehigh Valley or Kevin Frandsen or Galvis report to Spring Training with an outfielder's glove, too.
Theriot is a useful infielder who can play multiple positions. The last two years Theriot has contributed greatly mostly from the bench. Theriot is used to winning: he earned a World Series ring in 2011 with the St. Louis Cardinals and in 2012 with the San Francisco Giants.
Theriot is a career .281 hitter with a .341 on base percentage. Most of Theriot's career was spent with the Chicago Cubs where he spent five and a half seasons before finishing 2010 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
I would say that the move would be curious on a day that Phillies General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. declared Chase Utley to be doing "very, very well".
