The Cole Hamels trade winds continue. While the Phillies have seemed to be linked to the Chicago Cubs and Red Sox the most in discussing a potential Cole Hamels trade, another team appears to be entering the mix. The team that already has Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke might be in search of yet another ace.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports:
The #Phillies are doing intensive homework on the #Dodgers minor-leaguers these days in preparation of Cole Hamels' trade talks.

Nightengale was the first to report the Dodgers interest. With trade talks continuing, it is hard to imagine an offseason in which the Phillies do not trade Hamels.
Why would the Dodgers want to add Hamels, when they already have so many strong starters? Greinke has an opt-out clause in his contract for after the 2015 season. Unless Greinke is injured, expect him to pursue free agency once the season ends. These opt-out clauses have almost become guaranteed exits in this day of inflated salaries.
