Final: Phillies 8, Blue Jays 3 ❖ Attendance: 28,209
TORONTO, Ont. — Just as they did on Saturday afternoon, the Phillies opened up a 5-0 lead in Sunday's game in Toronto. This time, they made sure to protect it, not only by getting out of jams in the field, but by adding some insurance down the stretch.
The Phillies clubbed four home runs in the game, including three in the first three innings, to salvage the series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays, 8-3, at Rogers Centre.

The Phillies opened the scoring in the first inning with back-to-back home runs by Rhys Hoskins and Carlos Santana to take a 2-0 lead. They managed to load the bases with two outs in the inning, but Odubel Herrera lined out to right to end the inning.
Wilson Ramos brought a run home in the second on a ground-rule double that landed just fair inside the right-field line.
Maikel Franco showed off his power with a long home run to left in the third. The two-run shot made it 5-0.
The Blue Jays got on the board in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run by Kendrys Morales, who homered for the seventh straight game.
The 5-2 score held through the middle innings and into the eighth inning, when the Phillies padded the lead with insurance runs. Cesar Hernandez led off the inning with a walk and Hoskins singled to put runners at the corners with no outs. Santana brought Hernandez home on a sacrifice fly. Ramos, who already had three hits in the game, followed with his fourth, a two-run home run to right-center, his first as a Phillie.
Randal Grichuk got one run back in the bottom of the eighth for Toronto with a solo home run to left.
The win for the Phillies was their 12th interleague win of the season, setting a new franchise record. They conclude interleague play for the 2018 season with a 12-8 record.
