PHILADELPHIA – With 99 losses on the season, the Philadelphia Phillies (62-99) will oppose rookie southpaw Adam Conley and the Miami Marlins (71-90) Sunday afternoon for the final game of the 2015 season.
In the first game of Saturday evening's traditional doubleheader, Phillies' closer Ken Giles blew his fifth save of the season by allowing two runs in the ninth. In addition, it was the Phillies' first loss of the season when leading after eight innings (47-1).
Rookie third baseman Maikel Franco made his long-awaited return in the second game. He did not disappoint, going 2-4 with one run scored, two runs-batted-in and a solo blast to the center field ivy.
