The Phillies have announced that they have selected the contract of outfielder Grady Sizemore from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, who could opt out if he was not called up this weekend. To make room on the 25 man roster, pitcher David Buchanan was optioned to Lehigh where he'll make a start during the All Star Break. To make room on the 40 man roster, Cliff Lee was placed on the 60-day DL which is retroactive to May and he'll be able to start shortly after the All Star Break.
Read into whatever trade drama that could come in the next few weeks, Sizemore figures to be a part of the plan for now. In ten games with the Iron Pigs he has hit .289/.360/.378 and has been quite good in the outfield. It's not certain where he'll fit in over the weekend but we figure to get a long look at him as he continues his comeback to the major leagues here in 2014.
