The Phillies added some outfield depth today, claiming outfielder Casper Wells on waivers from the Chicago White Sox. Wells had played for the Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics and Chicago White Sox organizations this season thus far.
Wells is right-handed and represents a center field option. He is, however, batting just .155 this season. That said, he has more upside than some on the roster right now. Wells is worth a shot.
