San Francisco, CA - The Philadelphia Phillies came back three separate times this afternoon, but the San Francisco Giants walked-off in the ninth, taking the series finale by a score of 8-7. Philadelphia came back from deficits of 5-1, 6-5 and 7-6 before falling in the final frame. Meanwhile, the Giants win marked manager Bruce Bochy's 800th win with the team.
The Phillies managed 12 hits in today's game, with Peter Bourjos tallying three knocks and Odubel Herrera, Cody Asche and Carlos Ruiz each with two a piece. Bourjos has had a phenomenal road trip, hitting .500 (11-for-22) while Cody Asche has gone 7-for-19 with four doubles, four runs scored and two RBI's.
Aaron Nola's struggles continued, as he was unable to make it past the fourth inning for the fourth straight start. He allowed five runs on 10 hits and hit three batters, the first Phillies pitcher to do so in a game since Jamie Moyer in 2007. Nola's ERA was 2.65 on June 5. After today's game, it's up to 4.45, allowing 22 earned runs in his last 13 innings pitched.
The Phillies head to Arizona for a three-game series with the Diamondbacks beginning tomorrow at 9:40 pm. Vince Velasquez will make his first start since June 8. He'll be opposed by Robbie Ray.

Odubel Herrera doubled to lead things off in the first and advanced to third on a bunt by Peter Bourjos. Tommy Joseph followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0.
San Fan got even in the first and pulled away in the third. With the bases loaded in the first, Brandon Crawford hit an RBI groundout to tie things at 1-1. In the third, they took advantage of Aaron Nola, who was clearly struggling with command from the get go. Denard Span started the third with a bunt single. Angel Pagan doubled, scoring Span to give the Giants a 2-1 lead. Two hitters later, Buster Posey hit an RBI double of his own to make it 3-1. Jarrett Parker added on another run with an RBI single before Nola hit both Ramiro Pena and Conor Gillaspie with pitches. Crawford scored on the Gillaspie hit by pitch, extending the lead to four, 5-1.
The Phils got a pair back in the fourth with two down. After two quick fly outs, Johnny Cueto hit Maikel Franco with a pitch. Cody Asche drew a base on balls and then Carlos Ruiz slapped an RBI-single to center, cutting the lead to three. Freddy Galvis drove in Asche with an RBI-single in the next at-bat to make it a 5-3 game.
Philadelphia tied things up in the fifth, once again with two outs. Peter Bourjos reached on an infield single and Tommy Joseph doubled to left. Maikel Franco walked to load the bases for Cody Asche, who hit a game-tying two-run single to center field, evening things up at 5-5.
The Giants took a 6-5 lead in the sixth with two down. Angel Pagan singled to lead off the inning before Brett Oberholtzer retired the next two hitters. He got ahead of Brandon Crawford 0-2, but Crawford laced an RBI-single to center on the third pitch of the at-bat, plating Pagan from second to retake the lead, 6-5.
Odubel Herrera got the run back with one swing of the bat in the seventh, his eighth homer of the year, a solo shot, to tie the game at six a piece. With two outs in the bottom half of the seventh, Angel Pagan ripped an RBI-double off the right field wall to score Gregor Blanco, who had walked with one down, giving the Giants the lead back, 7-6.
The Phils would tie things up yet again in the eighth. Cody Asche hit a lead-off double and scored on an RBI-single from Carlos Ruiz to knot the game at 7-7.
In the bottom half of the ninth, Ramiro Pena hit a one-out double. Conor Gillaspie followed with a walk-off double to right, sealing the win for San Francisco, 8-7
