In what is in some ways the official kick off of Phillies Spring Training, the team packed up their team tractor trailer and it headed south towards Clearwater, Florida. The truck arrived around 8:00 a.m. and left about 10:30 a.m., Mike DiNardo of KYW Newsradio reported.
Among the equipment on the truck, according to the Allentown Morning Call:
- 10,000 12 oz. POWERADE cups
- 2,400 baseballs
- 2,000 short and long-sleeve shirts
- 1,200 bats
- 600 pairs of pants
- 600 batting practice hats
- 450 pairs of socks
- 350 pairs of shorts
- 250 batting practice tops
- 200 fleeces
- 200 light jackets
- 150 pairs of batting gloves
- 140 batting helmets
- 125 leather and elastic belts
- 75 assorted spike, plastic and turf shoes
- 40 heavy jackets
- 25 sets of golf clubs
- 20 coolers and a half pallet of POWERADE mix
- 6 bikes
Most importantly: a hot dog launcher, WIP's Jon Johnson reports:

Pitchers and catchers have their first official workout on Thursday, but many have already arrived in Clearwater.
