Phillies eye series split against Haren, Cubs

Philadelphia, PA – In Sunday afternoon's series finale matinee against RHP Dan Haren and the Chicago Cubs (82-59), the Philadelphia Phillies (55-88) will look to avoid their 29th series defeat, as well as their 40th home loss of the season.

Haren, 34, is winless with a 6.09 ERA and a 1.559 WHIP ratio in six career starts at Citizens Bank Park dating back to 2009.

The three-time All-Star has faced the Phillies three times this season as a member of the Miami Marlins, surrendering four home runs and nine runs overall over 18.0 innings.

On July 31, Haren was dealt with cash to the Windy City in exchange for minor leaguers Ivan Pineyro and Elliot Soto.

The right hander has allowed 20 earned runs over 37 2/3 innings and seven starts as a Cub.

Harang, 37, will look for his first win since July 30.

In his seven starts since, the veteran right hander is 0-4 with 50 hits, 34 runs, 18 walks and nine home runs surrendered over 37 2/3 innings.

With 15 losses to his credit this season, Harang is currently tied with Padres' RHP Andrew Cashner and A's RHP Jesse Chavez for most throughout the league in the category.
