Baltimore scored first this afternoon with an RBI single from Ronnie Paulino, scoring Adam Jones. The Phillies scored their first runs in the following inning thanks to a two-run single from Hunter Pence which scored Hector Luna and Jimmy Rollins. After that, Jim Thome singled to score Juan Pierre. 3-1 Phils.
In the top of the fourth, Jason Hammel tossed a wild pitch which allowed Juan Pierre to score, giving the Phillies a 4-1 lead.
With a comfortable lead for Cliff, it all blew up in his face. With one pitch, Steve Tolleson teid the ballgame in the fourth with a three-run jack to left field.
After six innings from Lee, Charlie would bring in Michael Schwimer in a 4-4 tie. Cliff's line from this afternoon: 6 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 106 pitches (74 for strikes).
Schwim pitched an outstanding three innings of relief striking out four, allowing one hit, and walking one. Hit 95 on his fastball.
In extra inning, Joe Savery came in for the tenth. Adam Jones reached on a fielding error by Wigginton over at third, and Matt Wieters doubled to score him, winning the ballgame. Seventh walk-off loss for the Phils this season.
