Haseley, 21, played in 37 games for the Phillies' Short Season affiliate in Williamsport, slashing .270/.350/.380 with nine doubles, two homers, 18 RBI, 18 runs scored, 28 strikeouts, 14 walks and five steals. He'll get a good test in Lakewood, as he moves from seeing recently drafted pitchers in short season to some guys who have been in the minors for 2+ years in Class 'A'. Lakewood is currently struggling in the second half of the season, posting a 22-28 record after going 40-30 in the first half. The Blueclaws are ranked 11th out of 14 in the South Atlantic League in batting average (.243). Their pitching staff is ranked 4th in the league with a 3.26 ERA.
The Windermere, Florida native was named a First-Team All-American (outfield) by Baseball America and Second-Team All-American (utility) by Collegiate Baseball in his final year at the University of Virginia in 2016. He slashed .390/.491/.659 with 14 home runs and 56 RBIs. He's ranked third all-time in UVA program history with 185 runs scored.
