In our ever wireless world, Phillies fans have been frustrated over the inability to stream Phillies games on the go. Even with the MLB.tv app, fans are blacked out from seeing the Phillies play when they are in the Philadelphia market, even when one is a paying cable customer. That will change for the 2017 season.
CSN Philly announced that Phillies games will now be available as part of the NBC Sports app:
The live streaming service will be available at no additional cost to authenticated CSN Philadelphia and TCN Philadelphia subscribers as part of an agreement between NBC Sports Regional Networks and Major League Baseball Advanced Media that was announced today.
The report says that Phillies Pre-Game Live and Post-Game Live will be available during the games.
This does not mean, however, that customers can cut the cord. One must be a paying cable customer who receives CSN Philly and TCN as part of their cable package. The app is available on a variety of streaming devices beyond wireless phones, such as Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and more.
