Phillies Look To Build Off Of Wins As Ethan Martin Gets Nod Against Dbacks
Another game, another walk off win. The Phillies have won three straight games after coming back late and winning in walkoff fashion. First with Michael Young on Wednesday, Domonic Brown Thursday and Chase Utley last night, the Phillies have certainly been exciting. Tonight they will look to build off of these past three games as Ethan Martin (2-2, 5.23 ERA) takes on Randal Delgado (4-4, 3.82 ERA) in game two against the Dbacks.
Ethan Martin is coming off of the best start of his career last time out. On Monday against the Rockies, the rookie hurled 6 1/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out six. The rookie has won two of his last three decisions and has a 3.21 ERA to go along with it. This will be Martin's fourth start at CBP (fifth overall). At home he is 2-1 with a 5.17 ERA. This is Martin's first meeting with the Dbacks.
Randall Delgado is coming off of a rough start against the Reds on Monday. The righthander tossed six innings, allowing five earned runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out six. Having not lost a game since July 8th, Delgado suffered his fourth loss of the year. Over Delgado's last four starts, he owns a 1-1 record and an ERA over 6.00, but his team is 3-1 in that stretch. In two career starts against Philadelphia, Delgado is 0-1 with a 2.77 ERA.
