Today, is Opening Night at Citizens Bank Park, as well as game two of a three game set against the Brewers. Yesterday in the Home Opener, the Brewers blew out the Phillies 10-4 in a game where the Phillies defense gave up three errors and Ryan Braun went 3-5 with three homeruns and seven RBIs for the Brewers.
Looking to get back on track, the Phillies will send Roberto Hernandez to the mound for his second start on the year. In the first game, Hernandez went 5.1 innings with five strikeouts and two earned runs against the Cubs getting the win. Matt Garza will oppose Hernandez. Garza pitched a stellar outing against the Braves in his first start going eight innings and seven strikeouts even though he took the loss.
GAME NOTES:
- Chase Utley is still out with the Flu, but available to pinch hit
- Hamels pitched 65-pitch rehab outing on Sunday. Hamels said he wants increase his pitch count by 15 pitches each outing and will return to the majors when he feels comfortable making 90 pitches.
- Cody Asche is not in the lineup, but took extra infield instruction from Larry Bowa and Ryno Sandberg
