Philadelphia Phillies No. 6 prospect LHP JoJo Romero has been placed on the seven-day disabled list — retroactive to July 18 — with a sprained oblique, according to the Williamsport Sun-Gazette's Mitch Rupert. Romero, 21, is 7-2 with a 2.44 ERA and 69-22 strikeout-to-walk ratio spanning his last 11 starts and 70 innings at Double-A Reading since May 20.
The Phillies drafted the Oxnard, California, native in the fourth round of the 2016 amateur draft out of Yavapai College, the same school which produced Ken Giles and Curt Schilling.
Romero joins the top-ranked Sixto Sanchez (elbow inflammation) as Phillies pitching prospects currently sidelined due to injury.
