After a tough Wednesday afternoon loss where the Cubs had their way with Phillies bullpen after Vince Velasquez exited the game two pitches in, the Phillies travel to Washington to face their first place division rivals. This is the fourth series against Washington this season but the first time Philly faces Stephen Strasburg who is having a phenomenal season. Strasburg is coming off his worst start of the season where he pitched 5.1 innings and allowed three earned runs. He also struck out ten.
Jeremy Hellickson is coming off a fairly unexciting outing himself where he pitched five innings of three run ball. It's Hellickson's fourth time against the Nationals this season and while they hit him hard the first time, he's been his strongest against them the other two times out.
It's a fairly standard Phillies lineup tonight with Tommy Joseph getting his first shot against Strasburg and Carlos Ruiz handling the catching for tonight.
