Phillies outfielder Domonic Brown exits game early due to ‘concussion concerns’

According to CSNPhilly.com's Jim Salisbury, Phillies right fielder Domonic Brown was removed early from tonight's game, before the bottom of the fourth inning got underway, because of 'concerns for a concussion'.

With a runner on second and two outs in the top of the second, Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada laced a fly ball down the right field line, just under the reach of the charging Brown in right.

The 2013 National League All-Star's momentum kept him going, unfortunately resulting in him flipping over the low wall along the first base line and into a concrete section of the stands.

The play ultimately resulted in the second ever inside-the-park home run at Citi Field. The other took place in 2009 by outfielder Angel Pagan, in opposition of the Phillies and eventual Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez.

Brown will likely be further evaluated following tonight's game.

It is possible that he could be placed on the recently-adopted, 7-day disabled list for concussions if he is in fact diagnosed with the injury.
