The Baltimore Orioles seemed destined to re-sign their incumbent outfielder, Nick Markakis. However, that deal fell apart and Markakis signed with his hometown Atlanta Braves. This was in addition to losing designated hitter Nelson Cruz to the Seattle Mariners. So, the Orioles will be on the hunt for offense and it could come from the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Orioles do have other options, however.
A report recently linked the Orioles to Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton. However, Upton has other potential suitors in the Texas Rangers and the San Diego Padres. Also in need of a right-handed power bat are the Seattle Mariners and Kansas City Royals, but those two teams were reportedly on Byrd's no-trade list last season, and it is unclear whether or not Byrd gets to pick new teams each year.
