PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Phillies have outrighted left-hander Joely Rodriguez to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, according to Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal.
Rodriguez, 24, was 7-10 with a 6.12 ERA and a 1.693 WHIP ratio last season combined with the IronPigs and Reading Fightin Phils. The southpaw was acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Dec. 10, 2014, in exchange for left-hander Antonio Bastardo.
The transaction frees up another roster spot on the club's 40-man roster, which now stands at 37 players ahead of Thursday's Rule 5 draft.
